NOTE: We now have new altimetry data viewers located at:

http://eddy.colorado.edu/ccar/data_viewer/index

The new website hosts our reanalysis SSH product and our new realtime SSH product. It also hosts MODIS Ocean color, MODIS Sea Surface Temperature and GOES Sea Surface Temperature data. Please start migrating to the new website. We will continue to maintain this page for a brief period of time, but we plan on eventually redirecting traffic from this website to the new website. Thanks!

Welcome to the CCAR Global Near Real-Time SSH/Ocean Color Data Viewer. This page allows you to view maps of the chlorophyll concentration with contoured SSH for any region in the global ocean (70°S to 70°N latitude).

Maps are produced from both the Level 2 and Level 3 Aqua-MODIS data from Ocean Color Web. The Level 2 data is used to provide near realtime images, though it is replaced by the Level 3 data once it becomes available. The Level 3 data generally lags behind the Level 2 data by about a month.

This page is hosted by the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research (CCAR) at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
